‘Amar Jyoti School for the Visually Impaired’ provides hostel facility for the visually impaired boys so that they could continue their regular education without much difficulties. This year there are twenty-six boys in the hostel studying from LKG to IVth.
Standard facilities are provided in the hostel for food and accommodation. There are separate halls for the study, dining and recreation. There are two big dormitories with thirty beds for junior and senior boys separately. The children can easily use the toilets and bathrooms that are adjacent to the dormitories.
The health of the children is our priority in the hostel. They are served nutritional food. One nurse sister is always available for their medical care. There are two wardens to teach and support the children in their daily activities.
In the hostel, the children are guided for their academic performance. They are also taught yoga, prayer, songs and music. Children enjoy the different games they play in the evenings. In-door recreations and cultural programmes enthuse their learning and mental health.
